Southside’s summer 2017 production was Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Liz Steer.
Trevor and Susannah, whose marriage is on the rocks, inflict their miseries on their nearest and dearest. Over one long Saturday night, they bring chaos to the homes of three beleaguered couples’ bedrooms and by doing so expose the cracks in other people’s marriages as well as their own.
First performed in Scarborough in 1975, and the Royal National Theatre in 1977, Bedroom Farce was Southside’s first production in Clapham in 1987. Thirty years on, Southside comes full circle and introduces a year of re-visiting old favourites for a new audience.
